I just bought and HDTV and it has a lot of red in the picture, and we just noticed its leaking an oily substance, what does this mean and what should I do, is that stuff harmful?

Sounds like a capacitor may be fried.........you should return it where you bought it. It's not harmful, as long as you don't eat it!

A T.V should not leak anything there are no moving parts so no need for lubrications Take it bake sounds like they sold u a used t.v

What you are seeing is PTV coolant fluid bigscrren use it to keep the tubes cool. It is Ethylene Glycol, and it is slightly toxic. the re color means that it is probably the green tube/ion gun
