At this stage, you would be using all your energy to keep the baby awake so that it would sleep when you want it to. My suggestion is to give it six weeks (yes, they will be LONG), then you start with a schedule at 30 to 45 minutes before you want the baby down for it's longest rest period: 1. give the baby a warm bath; 2. feed and rock until the bottle is empty; 3. put the baby to bed. This repeated schedule every day at the same time will be helpful for the baby to establish a regular rest pattern, and you will have a regular period of quiet for yourself. Good luck and enjoy!!

There is no set time for a 3 week old baby to go to sleep. They will spend most of their time sleeping, but will wake up frequently and need to be fed every 3-4 hours. New parents don't get much sleep. You need to catch a nap when the baby naps. It seems like this phase will last forever, but it won't. God bless you all!

Caly has the right answer. Don't let anyone tell you that a 3 week old should be on a schedule.
You need to be there for whenever he/she is awake and nap when he/she naps. Forget the house for now and dinner if necessary.
The schedule will change pretty much daily for the next several months. Hang in there.

You can't put a baby on a schedule. They sleep whenever they want to. When you sign onto become a parent you have to agree to be sleep deprived for the next 18 years of your life.

No specific time. As often as the baby falls asleep, let him/her be. After nursing, and having been burped, they fall asleep. Sleep is the fastest biological growth and development facilitator among babies.

Whenever they want to. Usually after eating, pooping, and getting changed, they like to be lulled to sleep.
Such nice little babies!
