The pump will dispense at the same rate regardless. The speed depends only on whether the filters are clean and how fast the pumps from the underground tanks can go. To change the price most places just go to the computer in the store office and type it in, and it will change the display price on the dispensers as well. It's like if you buy a bottle of Coke one place and it's 99c and someplace else it's $1.19, the more expensive one won't drink any faster!

Because the pumps are set to dispense 1 gal every time the counters (thast what it really is gets to the price programmed into it. Fluid will flow at the same rate of speed regardless of the price we are paying

I'm not sure I understand. Why wouldn't it despense at the same rate? Also I've been to various gas stations that despense gas at different rates. So I think it all depends.

because your getting the same amount of gas,,all that speeds up is the price counter on the pump,,it wont change the speed at which the fuel is delivered,,but will speed up the price indicator,,,,and it will always be this way,,no matter what the price of fuel goes to,,i own a repair shop,,and have been asked this question ,,a lot,,we all wish it was the other way,,but for now,,i guess we have to live with it this way,,i hope this help,s.

um ... i dunno ....but did you read the artical about how gas expands from like 230 cubic inches a gal to 235 cubic inches a gallon when going from a temp of 70F to 85F ? so they keep it warm so you get less?
