both would and could invoke and/or compliment the other,,,, depending on circumstances and factors.... they go hand in hand equally.
one would come before the other in some instances,,, but the opposite in other instances.

50/50 they are equally important.

Einstein says imagination is more important than knowledge but I think a healty dose of both is good. Knowledge lets you have information but without imagination you'd just sit there not being able to think of something to do with that knowledge. Imagination lets you think in unbound ways but without knowledge of what is real you'll just end up tilting at windmills like Don Quixote. But seeing as it's an either or question, I would go with imagination as it'd be a far more interesting life.

Both are important but imagination is more important because it gives us creativity and ideas to improve our knowledge.(eg.Architect,1:Has to imagine first before he uses his knowledge to make it better/perfect and 2.He cant get a good job without creativity which comes from 1.Imagination then 2.Knowledge to put his imagination into paper and make it perfect)
Writing books, movies(fantasy, science fiction) and fashion, they all come from imagination then follows the knowledge to make them better.
Imagination is more important than knowledge according to me.

I think they are both equally important because someone with all knowledge and no imagination is no fun and someone with all imagination and no knowledge is just living in a fantasy world.

Imagination
It gives me wings and I can fly .
It gives dreams to my eyes and makes me smile .

Knowledge
It gives food to my brain
It gives ground for imagination to flourish .
It tells me what are my limitations and also tools to go beyond those limitations .

Imagination makes me venture into the unknown but how do I know what is known & what is unknown - thru knowledge .
Both are like two faces of a coin . Given a choice , I'll select knowledge because for imagination also I need knowledge . Can you imagin in blank/black ?

Equally because, without knowledge, imagination would be worthless since we wouldn't be able to make what we imagined. The opposite is also true, without imagination, knowledge'd be worthless because we could never come up with something new.

Very interesting Question. Well the truth is that: without Knowledge you can't imagine in a particular field & imigination is the mother of Knowledge...history proves that...How a 1st aircradt were fly by twin brother...just bcoz of their imagination.

So you see both are depended on each other.

Imagination. It creates a base to any knowledge cos without imagination we cant create anything and without creation there is no knowledge.Jules Verne's imagination created the submarines, the television and many astounding things.Imagination is the seed of knowledge.
