...some guy 6000 years ago disobeyed God?

Fact: it is Christian belief that death, disease and suffering are the result of Adam disobeying God. Thus are we all sinners and inheritors of God's curse.

Sandy: Jews have a different interpretation of Genesis, one based on the Oral Torah, Talmud, etc. I'm speaking solely of the Christian interpretation and actions.

Besides, if Christianity -really- wanted to cure cancer or stop hunger, you think they lack the resources to do it?

Why must they suffer? Cancer can be from eating the wrong thing. It also comes from being an unforgiving person. Having anger. The reason children die from hunger in various countries is due to sin in the country. If the leaders of the country reject God, He will withhold blessings from the country. This includes rain to help from the food needed to feed the people.

Kids aren't dying of hunger or cancer becasue some guy (? who) disobeyed God. Kids are dying and have cancer because this is an imperfect world. Man and the choices he made have corrupted this world. God has given us freedom of choice. If you choose to accept that 2000 years ago Jesus Christ willingly died on the cross for you so that you can live for eternity in love then you (and the children who are dying if they so choose) in this imperfect love will have a blissful future. I feel I am very ignorant as I do not know who you are refering to when you state that "some guy 6000 years ago disobeyed God".

Sorry Bob, you're analysis is based on belief, that the Old Testament is factual, which most clerics will tell you is not true. Catholic priests will attest, that at least the first 5 books of the OT is in a classical sense a collection of myths, stories used to describe that which man does not understand.

why would god want little innocent kids to suffer. i mean do we really want a god who is like that. i do accept and believe in the christian god, but not in the way that it is said by people that we have to suffer for some goddamned crappy reason. i mean seriously god is like this really great loving parent. just that i guess the children suffer cos we arent doing anything about it i mean there are people who help the children and look at how some of them have grown up and become great people. so its all up to us to make the difference. god has given us the resources and come on give him a break. does god expect us to do EVERYTHING? no.. then why do we expect him to bake our bread even after he has given us the grain to make it with

well instead of cussing the man (Adam) who made a mistake 6000 years ago, why dont we use that precious time doing something better for others.

dont u think if each one of us helps a poor kid, then they will be no more hunger and poverty. and i feel that it is the responsibility of G1/developed countries to help the under developing and devolpoing countries. how will a person come up all by him/herself until others dont help him.

and as far as cancer is concerned, cancer has many etiologies (reasons) not just hunger. if u are malnourished, then u wont have cancer, as cancer needs more intake of proteins, so in that case the etiology i something else.

the mistake that was done is done, now its time for u and me to get over the mistake and wake up to the real purpose of life.

It interests me that people think that the Old Testament is only part of the Christian faith. It is also of the Jewish faith. Ever heard of the Pentateuch? No? It includes these five books: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy. It's also known as the Torah.

But to persecute Jews would be to align yourself with some untidy historical atrocities, now, wouldn't it?

If you are bashing Christians on account of Genesis, you are also bashing the Jews.

This isn't an answer to your question. This is just to inform you that while you apparently--as evidenced by your other questions--wish not to align yourself with Adolf Hitler, you are, in fact, aligning yourself with Adolf Hitler by hating the Jews as well.

Wow nobody has sinned since then? Amazing how we are so innocent in your eyes! We brought about the curses in the Garden of Eden back then and everyday we sin!

Did it ever occur to you that the reason people go hungry is that they either are not able to care for themselves, dont have the resources, or just plain arent cared about in the socieities in which they live? How many hungry people have you fed?

Most of the time Christians care more about the world than the world does. How many countless orphanages, hospitals, and relief efforts have been organized by Christians? What good do atheists offer the world besides desent and disbelief?

Instead of blaming God and dissing Christianity, its time to start accepting your responsiblity in this life; to God, and to the poor.

Isaiah 55:8-9

8-For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

9-For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

10-For as the rain cometh down, and maketh it bring forth and bud, that it may give seed to the sower, and bread to the eater:

Children aren't starving because of Adam. Let's be honest, if everyone cared enough to give we could eradicate world hunger. But once again, let's blame God for not fixing it for us!

How about the fact that these kids are hungry and dying because of christians and their economic warfare in the world?

Muslims have tons of it, and christians have the pull and push.

Who suffers? The poor kids who are being pushed into poverty because of the christians and muslims who think they are smart.
