this verse means for husbands to treat their wives with respect and honor because they are the fairer sex so that both husband and wife can live in peace together loving each other praying together so that they will each inherit the kingdom of heaven

I am a man so I will not answer. The question that you are asking refers to
1 Peter 3:7
7) Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs togehter of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
I ask that you allow me to answer only by E-mailing me at bible-god-holy@yahoo.com
I pray for you. Amen
What book are you reading from?

It means the same thing the bible has always said about women. That we are lesser than men. And that we aren't as valued.
I will post a few bible-verses for you to show that its been there all along.
Verses in leviticus
Chapter 12 Verses 1-5
Paraphrase
"Women are dirty and sinful after childbirth, so God prescribes rituals for their purification. If a boy is born, the mother is unclean for 7 days and must be purified for 33 days; but if a girl is born, the mother is unclean for 14 days and be purified for 66 days. This is because, in the eyes of God, girls are twice as dirty as boys."
Chapter 27 Verses 3-7
Paraphrase
"God defines the value of human life in dollars and cents. Of course, to God, females are worth considerably less than males (50 - 60%) -- but neither are worth much."
Luke
Chapter 2 Verses 21-23
Paraphrase
"Even Mary had to be "purified" after giving birth to Jesus. Was she defiled by giving birth to the Son of God?" It also says in verse 23 that all males born are holy
And then to answer your question about what it means to women in the church.
Corinthians
Chapter 14 Verses 34-35
From KJV
34 Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.
35 And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
1 Timothy
Chapter 2 Verses 11-13
From KJV
11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.
12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.
Well I hope that goes a litte ways towards showing others how horrible the bible's attitudes and really christianity are towards women.

this means that husbands should treat their wives good and not be mean to them. So many people only read the first part of this saying that wives should be submissive to their husbands and forget that the men are suppose to treat their wives with respect as well and not mistreat them.

god was speaking about . that women who are no the weaker sex but who are equal, are to be treated with respect. women in the begining was meant to be the suitable helper. read begining of old testmeant. women was orignally made for man. but god who is good not bad ,said that the two should treat each other fairly. in marriage and in living to gether (read new testament). to answer your question woamen are a very precious gift and when talking to man he means that not to treat them unfair and not the woman to treat the man unfair beacuse he two is a precious gift of life that the two be equal. its meant for both sexes!

Doesn't sound like anything in the Bible, more like the Koran. Why should women be the 'weaker partner'? If I was a woman I'd be insulted by that.

EQUALITY;
LORD OF MY DREAMS
Emerging from the tunnel of darkness
I awoke with a feeling of thankfulness
For I was falling from the darkest of skies
A dream of my fears covered my eyes
Disarrayed with illusions of a bottomless pit
Tattooed with a feeling I couldn't forget
But it was then, when I first saw the light
My shiniest day, came in the middle of the night
Overcoming my fear, with your presence by my side
The Lord of my dreams, was suddenly my guide
Showing me a spirit,I have never seen before
Lord,it was you, knocking at my door
The sound awoke me,as I sat up in bed
Then I bowed my head to pray, and this is what I said
"Lord, your arms were open for me when I started to fall
I give you my heart,my soul,I give you my all
For you are the purifier of my water
And my life ever after!"
Amen
