I've washed my cats regularly for 6 years, we are all still alive. For some reason my cats like showers better than baths. I make sure the mat is down and use a hand held shower and they tolerate it well. They are not happy but I have never been bitten or scratched once-what good boys!

I think the reason they like the shower is that with a long bath mat they always have firm footing and feel more secure, unhappy but secure.I always towel dry them as using a noisy blow dryer would really freak them out.

Good luck.

What do you plan on washing her with? Cat shampoo and water is my recommendation if she has to be washed.
First- is she really dirty? Most cats don't need to be bathed. They take care of themselves. Is this a short hair?
Most cats don't like water and will fight you all the way.
I think what you are worried about is the cat catching cold sitting around wet. She surely won't like it. Get many many towels to dry her off with and keep the room where she is drying off warm.
If you can rig up a bed with a towel under her and a light over her like a kitty sunlamp this would be good. But watch her. Change the towel when it's damp and make sure she isn't cooking under the light.
And think about making this cat an inside cat. They don't have to be bathed so much.

The same grooming shops that bathe dogs will routinely bathe cats as well. I

give my cat a bath myself every few months. She's use to it and does quite well. Although I would definitely recommend wearing long sleeves! She puts up with it and usually just meows loudly. Afterwards, she is so happy! I think she likes how it feels plus she's getting a lot of attention.

Cats do not die when you wash them.

Kitties are funny... If cats are given access to a water bath at a young age, there is no problem at all BUT if later in life a cat is introduced to a bath for the first time, they will fight and will not accept it. No.. they will not die of course not.. the problem is whether or not they will accept being washed.. Most will not, as I said earlier, if they are not used to water as a bathing agent.

No! A cat will not die if you bathe them...now you on the other hand, might want to pray for mercy! LOL Most cats are not keen on being placed in a tub of warm water, and slathered with shampoo. Mine on the other hand, does not mind it too much. It is not his favorite pasttime, he tried to sneak away slowly during his bath time. LOL It is so funny and cute! And he will protest in meows throughout the entire bathing session! LOL But when it is all said and done, and he is drying and done pouting for a 1/2 an hour...he is wanting all kinds of love and attention from me. He loves being clean, as all cats do, he is just not a big fan of what it takes to get that clean. Like most cats, but the majorty of cats will not be like mine...they protest in other ways that involve physical pain for you. LOL

But no, cats will not die from bathing. They will just pout over it a bit.

Nope, your cat will not die if you wash her. I will warn you, though: You're cat will not be very happy with you. I would suggest that you get a friend/family member to help you in washing your cat, and also have a towel already laid out to dry her with. Good luck!

No,your cat want die if you give it a bath. If it has not had a bath before, then it may act like it's dying.I have 3 cats and they don't like baths .But,I always clip there toenails first and then get the bath water ready.I lure one cat at time in the bathroom. And before they know whats going on .I pick one up and put them in the bathtub. If you clip the cats toenails, make sure you just clip the very ends. You clip to much and they will bleed and it will hurt the cat.

No. I am a Pet Groomer and give cats a bath on a daily basis. However, u do want to make sure whatever shampoo u use says it can be used on cats because some shampoos have pyrethririns in them that are fatal to a cat.
Have fun.

No, the cat will not die.Actually cats can swim but they hate to get wet.If, the cat is a full grown cat and never been de-clawed I would strongly advise not to attempt it,as severe adverse reaction ,would take place ! You would be clawed*A young kitten can be trained to a bath. I mean a very young one that hasn't learned the claw deal **

No. Use baby shampoo or cat shampoo from Pet Store. Hold on tight so they don't jump out of the tub. Rinse well and towel dry. They smell great after a bath. Enjoy.
