Have you ever lived in a commune?

You know, I have given this great thought. I think that to me it would be like another world. One where everyone has your values and ideas. No crime, no violence, just like a large family or a very small town where everyone knows each other. I am not into religious cults or bigamy, just an idea of a community. I think I would do it under those circumstances.

No way would I give up my Independence to live in a commune. I have been an advocate for women being de-briefed after being stripped of their identity. Anytime a group of any kind is formed there has to be a leader. The leader has power over the group/commune and in most cases, power goes to their head. Soon a lot of brain washing starts without the person knowing it. Be careful. If you have family they can turn you against your family or they can get you to a point that you will allow yourself to be held hostage and not care to see your family. Just find some friends to be room mates and share expenses, so you can walk out of it any time.

I would consider joining an ashram type of commune, but only if I could be alone when I wanted to.

Not much. I'm surprised I haven't joined one yet. Probably because I don't know where any are near me.
