That's quite simple. Let's say your friend won an award and you get jealous of her. All you have to do is tell yourself, if I'm going be jealous of her for one single little thing it would break up our friendship for nothing, tell yourself to try to be happy or if you can't resist take some time alone, calm yourself before you come and talk to her.

There are different schools of thought on this. One says to face your feeling, in other words, put yourself in situations where you will be jealous and get comfortable there, and then you will overcome the jealousy.
Personally, I don't like that one. I had to pull back from a bunch of friendships and relationships, in part due to my jealousy. I feel much better now, and I have been focusing on myself and my happiness.
I work out, do landscaping, read, and just generally improve myself. I have learned how jealous I can be, so I have stopped myself when it starts. In a way, it's sad, because I put up a barrier between me and others. But I think it's the right thing for me to do. I am tired of getting burned by people, and can spot their BS a mile away now. So I've learned some things through the experience.
I think jealousy comes from a lack of self-esteem. I depended on others to make me happy, and when those friendships were threatened by an intruder, I responded by being crazy mad jealous. YUCK! I hate that feeling too. So now I ignore it.
Love, Jack.

By turning those thoughts into positives.
The envy feelings - say someone has something "better". Think of a reason why it really isn't better.
Or just do something for yourself - work out. Something.
