Is the bride pregnant? Or is it a bride and another person that you just want to have on the same day to make things easier for everyone.

If the bride's expecting, the same people would most likely be invited to both, and the wedding, and that is asking for a lot of gifts. You can either divide up the guest list so that people aren't invited to both (especially if they are on the same day) or make a joke about the fact (like: We're in a rush to start our family- come celebrate with us!). Then keep it to more of an afternoon tea like feeling or BBQ and open presents after guests leave. You also shouldn't play too many games.

A better solution would be to hold them as far apart as possible. And for tradition sake, hold the baby shower after the wedding. This would be more considerate for the guests (and their wallets) and you could still get the items the mom needs.

If it is for separate people, have them on either separate days or the same day at different times.

Good Luck!

I say have a bridal shower now and then in about 2 months even if it is a little after the baby is born have the baby shower.I don't believe it is a good idea to have a baby/bridal because then guest are required to give to gifts.Have them far enough apart that everyone has most likely got another pay check and won't be scrounching for available funds.

Yeah those are two different themes totally. You don't wanna gyp the baby on gifts or the bride-to-be lol. That's a toughie. I like the first suggestion though; do it separate in the same day. Maybe even switch it though, and like go to lunch for the bridal shower, then to someone's home for the baby part afterwards and have cake there. Flowers would be a simple decor to use that would go for both. Good Luck!

While this isn't an easy one to combine, you could do an "Around the House" shower. Each person invited could be "assigned" a room. For example, if someone were given the living room, they could bring a gift for the bride and groom's living room or an item for the baby to use in the living room (a playpen perhaps). I would assign the room to more than one person.

go out to dinner for the baby shower and have it a month either before or after the bridal shower. Not both at once because both at once can be kinda hard to do.and a bit much at one time.

This is not a good idea. The two are not compatible. Have them in the order they are occuring, as two separate events. Otherwise, it's very tacky.

Well you can go with the classic plain streamers and presents. That can work for any type of party, or you can go with cakes. Not too much can be used for just about any type of patry.

These don't go together at all, in fact it's kind of a really tacky idea.
