You're friend is thinking about a nose job. She has a HUGE unsightly nose and you've always thought she should get one. What do you tell herwhen she asks your opinion?

1. That's not something the Bible addresses - it's her choice. I would talk honestly and openly with her.

Personally... I love huge roman noses! I believe they give character to a face and make it beautiful!
but most people in society don't, so I would ask her how uncomfortable it makes her, ask her why and if she was doing it to please anyone else... I would suggest she rethink her reasoning. But only to be certain it was what SHE wanted. The promise of acceptance is quite alluring sometimes... even if in reality, it is completely idiotic and ignorant.
if making everyone else happy and fawn all over her was her main objective in life... I would say go for it! But only after carefull thought and consideration.

I would tell her that she should do what would make her happiest and if it is getting it altered through surgery then she should and that I'd be there to support her decision in any way I can.
I'm not a member of any organized religion
If my nose was making me unhappy I'd have it fixed so that it looked natural to the shape of my face. Life is too short not to spend it happy.

Okay, I'm a Piegan ( We worship baked goods, but you'd know that TJ, I would think ). I'd tell Her "Look Kid, your beautiful. If you've got to do this thing then do it and then it's done." Then I'd see if She was going to pick up the tab for lunch, after all we are just friends!

1). Reformed Druid (I can worship bushes as well as trees).
2). Nothing out there that says she can't fix it. Just like an unslightly branch of a tree than needs trimming a little.

I am Pagan and I would tell her to do whatever would make her happy as long as she has considered all of the possiblities such as the cost and the dangers of having such a surgery.

b) Chat about the irrelevance of good looks but how society places such a large emphasis on it, I'd say 'Up to you' but don't make a rash decision, ensure its a safe procedure before you do it (you don't want to get nose cancer or something)

a) dont do it. Your nose may represent a signal that your future mate will be attracted to and have beneficial genetic effects. hiding your nose will get you genes that go well with someone with a small nose (but that's not your genes)

Open minded atheist.
I would tell her it is what she wants. She needs to be the one to make the decision as it is her body. The only thing it would do is make her think she looked better, and give her confidence. If she wants to she should.
