Okay my dog Prince caught a bird.. I praised him for good hunting skills, but my mom yelled at him and saved the bird. Its got a broken wing and we have it in a box with newspaper and a small bowl of water. We don't have bird food on us right now. Any help or tips on how to help this bird cure? Thankyou in advance!

Well thankyou everyone who posted seriouse answers. We called the vet, but sadly just now the bird died in a corner of the box. They say it might have had internal injuries from Princes attack.

Call any local vet clinic, they will give you the names of the nearest wildlife rehabbers in your area, and turn it over to them.
In the meantime, you will have to gently dip his beak into the water bowl then tilt his head back to make sure he drinks something once in a while.

Depends on the bird for the food... some only do insects, some do seed, shore birds like little fish in water bowls, they're all different. Do you know what kind he is? Try little pieces of a slice of bread, if he's a seed eater he might pick those up to eat. Do you have any eggs in the house? A hard boiled egg broke in half, cooled and put in there he might pick at too. (Good protein source). If he's a bug eater he might (not always) peck at little pieces of chopped up raw hamburger, don't cook it first.

Sorry to be so vague, it's tough without knowing what kind he is.

Don't feel bad if he doesn't make it, the pain from the wing and the stress of being in a box makes it tough for the injured ones to survive.

I raised a baby bird once that had fallen from a tree. The local vets office said cat food was a good source of nutrition. If you don't have cat food, maybe your dog would share his food with the bird. I also put out food scraps for our local wild animals, the birds also love fruit. Cooked rice is good.

i'm hoping a wild poultry professional notices your question and can provide you extra useful suggestion yet it somewhat is my adventure as a wild woods female. on no account %. up a chick you discover. it particularly is liable to cats however the only way it somewhat is mom will retrieve it particularly is in spite of if it particularly is left on my own. the mummy might have pushed it from the nest. it somewhat is one reason to no longer placed it back interior the nest yet whilst a human disturbs the nest the parental pair will possibly abandon it in any experience. regrettably, the suitable ingredient is to leave the lost birds to their own lifeways. on the 2nd you have a chick devoid of residing house. try calling your interior of reach animal rescue/county centers and ask them what they might propose you do.

let the bird go . Your dog was only doing what comes natural to him . The bird won't eat anyway . it's wild and the human scent is not appealing to wild animals . Just let it got to die .

The best thing to do is give it to the vet. If you don't, it probobly won't survive.
