It really depends on the situation.

The reason alcohol is forbidden is because it alters the mind. Sure, a tiny sip every now and then won't hurt, but how many people do you know that can stop at a tiny sip? For this reason, if a barrell full of it would make you drunk, then you shouldn't have a drop. And in Islam, a drunk person is a rejector of God until he sobers up.

Yet, there are certain situations of emergency in which forbidden things become permissible. For example, if pork is the only available source of food, then we are not forbidden to eat it. In the same case, if the medication means the difference between a serious condition and relief from it, with no other available means of the same reaction, then it would become permissible. Cough syrup with alcohol would not be permissible (honey and lemon juice work better anyways), however something for a more serious condition would be.

No, absolutly not. Not even medication made with an alcoholic process. Muslim do not provide these medications. Muslims do not go through medication to get alcohol...
It is said: "You will not drink the first drop of alcohol": so they throw away the first drop out with one finger and I let you guess what happens to the rest of the liquid in the glass...

I trained a Muslim when he came to America. It was on our system.
He went out boozing and grabbing.
I asked him about it and he answered this way.
Allah watches over the area of the world where he lives.
He is over here and Allah doesn't watch here.
Great answer huh?
