I'm not sure how to get rid of it this time, but to prevent it in the future, wear latex (or some other kind) gloves when working with peppers.

At this point, there is little you can do about it. As you noticed, it took a while for the capsasins to permeate through the keratin layers to get to the nerve endings. Similarly it will take a while to dissipate.

Dilute, dilute dilute. Any source of water, kept on it as much as you can as long as you can will help to dilute the capsasin concentration. Do you have access to a swimming pool? You could make this an enjoyable "cure". Nice cool bath, perhaps, long enough to get your fingers all "prune-y".

DO NOT rub your eyes, or nose, or use those fingers to change a tampon!
