You can try supplementing your daily caloric intake with Ensure Plus (a nutritional supplement often used for weight gain and/or to prevent weight loss). Below is the link. Also, you can always consult with a nutritionist (who can help you develop a meal plan to acheive your goals). Good luck!

I used to have the same problem. Here is what you do. Go to Sams Club and get the Whey protein cheap. Put it in the highest fat milk your stomach can handle. Add a little Ice Cream to it and blend it. Don't waste your money on "weight gain" powders they are nothing more than whey with vitamins in it. Drink the shake I mentioned in the morning, noon, after your workout and before bed. Drink milk all day long (you should go through at least half a gal a day). Take hard boiled eggs to school/work and eat a couple every day. Eat a good breakfast Eggs, Hash Browns, OJ, etc. Here is the part some people gag at, but they work really well. Supplement every 3 to 4 hours with Dessicated Liver tablets. Lots of nutrients, vitamins, high in protein, etc. Also I put Flax Seed oil in all my shakes, As for exercises do NOT work out too long. Try to use the basics, Squat, Bench, Military, etc. Work out no more than 1 hour each session and no more than 4 times a week. Do no cardio. Overtraining will keep your weight down. A great book to read is Super Squats. The author gained a lot of muscle weigth in I think 6 weeks. Great Book.

I used to have the same crisis. Here's what you do. Go to Sams membership and get the Whey protein inexpensive. Put it in the perfect fat milk your belly can control. Add a little bit Ice Cream to it and combination it. Do not waste your cash on "weight gain" powders they are nothing more than whey with nutrition in it. Drink the shake I acknowledged in the morning, midday, after your workout and earlier than mattress. Drink milk all day long (you must go by way of at the least half a gal a day). Take difficult boiled eggs to college/work and eat a couple day-to-day. Eat a good breakfast Eggs, Hash Browns, OJ, and so on. Here is the section some people gag at, however they work particularly well. Supplement every 3 to four hours with Dessicated Liver capsules. Lots of nutrients, nutrients, excessive in protein, and so on. Additionally I put Flax Seed oil in all my shakes, As for workouts don't determine too long. Attempt to use the basics, Squat, Bench, navy, and many others. Determine no more than 1 hour every session and no more than four times every week. Do no cardio. Overtraining will hold your weight down. A exceptional ebook to read is tremendous Squats. The writer received plenty of muscle weigth in I consider 6 weeks. Nice book.

The very first step is to eat healthy, get enough water and enough sleep. Assess your current diet and make sure you get what you need. If you are in USA, use the food pyramid, in Canada, use the Canada Food Guide to Healthy Eating as your reference for what healthy eating is about.

You need food from each food groups. Then you need to find out how much calories you burn when not training and the amount of calories you burn when you train. Then, you need to eat 5 to 6 small balanced meals to ensure a constant energy supply and to get the amount of calories you need for your activity level.

You will wonder if you need extra protein but be very careful with the amount of protein you eat. There is a believe in the body building community that there is a need for more protein to build muscle. WRONG!!!

The protein wastes has to be processed by your kidneys...more protein means more work for your kidneys. Kidneys are like big filters and if you overuse your kidneys, there are consequences to overusing kidneys. YOU DON'T WANT TO END UP ON DIALYSIS BECAUSE OF OVERUSE.

The maximum amount of protein should be around 1.2 grams of protein per kilogram of body weight per day. (1 kg = 2.2 lbs) Some authors recommend a bit more but I personally feel that 1.2 g/kg is plenty of protein.

Also, keep in mind that your body is not a calculator. Your wish for a fixed amount of muscle mass might not happen no matter what you do. Keep in mind that your body has it's limitation...example...genetics etc...

Whatever you do...beware of non credible sources that encourage practices that can ruin your health. Whatever you do...if you get sick, your extra muscle mass won't do a thing for you if your health is gone. Good luck!

Do you just want to gain 45 lbs. of blubber or 45 lbs. of muscle? You cannot gain 45 lbs. of muscle in 6 months. This is Physiology 101 and beyond dispute. On a properly structured program you can expect to gain 10-12 pounds of pure muscle in 12 months. In fact, serious bodybuilders consider this to be a reasonable goal.

Eat 5-7 small, evenly spaced meals throughout the day, each containing protein, complex carbs, fibrous carbs and healthy fat.

Stick to heavy basic exercises such as squat, deadlift, barbell rows and bench press. Your program MUST progress each week to provide the stimulus for your body to add strength and mass.

Get an immersion test or caliper test now to determine your body composition (% of fat, % of lean muscle). That's the only accurate way to determine what kind of weight you're adding as time goes on. Recheck regularly.

Try to eat extra protein on top of what you're eating. Get some high-calorie protein powder and high-calorie protein bars at a store like GNC for snacking. Drink lots of 2% milk for protein and added energy. For best results, strength train high weight at low reps. Do at least 4 sets of 6 to 8 repetitions. This is the best way to gain muscle quickly. To be able to lift and recover often, do a different body part each day. Include chest, back, shoulders, arms, hamstrings, thighs, and glutes. If you don't like working out everyday, combine two similar ones into one day. Look for extra help at www.mensfitness.com. You may even want to subscribe to the magazine. You won't need to do much cardio unless you need to lose fat. Simply walk and stretch often to help your muscles recover.
