I recommend 2 products. Read the directions with each one, so you're using them right, and not hurting yourself.

1) The big bottle of multipurpose storage and disinfectant solution -- the one you store and clean your contacts with. I think Alcon sells a bottle of no-rub for $5-6. Use it to store your lenses, and to clean them with your finger. If I didn't wear my lenses for a week, it would probably be fine to put them on, but if you're still worried, you can hold the lens in the palm of your hand, and squirt the solution on it, and let it run off you hand. Your case doesn't need sanitized, although you want to keep it clean. If you use the solution I just mentioned, it should keep everything to a minimum. Wash the case out if you think it's dirty. I just used warm water when necessary.

2) There's another product usually labeled "enzymatic cleaner." This is found in a small rectangular box, and it will feel very light. It includes a tiny dropper-bottle. After you put both lenses in solution for the night, put one drop in each side. You only need one drop each, more than one doesn't do any good. This makes your lenses feel like new, and it cleans them out really good. It will make your lenses last longer, too. They get their original bounce back, and they're crystal-clear. It's about $5. You can skip days if you want it to last longer -- it's supposed to last about 30 days if you use it once a night, but I used it every 3 days to save money, and the lenses still looked great.

You should disinfect them often, but if they have been in a case for a week then you don't necessarily need to. Just keep them really clean, since it is better to be safe than sorry with your eyes.

Yes, never put them in your eyes when they have been in your case until you disinfect them.
