1. Gift coupon good for 8 hours worth of work or favors, such as washing their cars, house or something like that.

2. A sentimental picture and frame it.

I think things that last and will remind them of the giver are best. Start with what they might need -- bedding? Kitchen gadgets? Something for their pets? Their yard? (Like a tree or shrub or a birdbath or fountain) How about a large mirror?
Next think of what they like -- hobbies, crafts, travel, photgraphy, home repair, etc. You can always get more 'gear' to support these things.
If they collect anything that is always good.
Or the traditional things like a crystal vase.
Best gift of all - in my opion - is the gift of yourself and your time. Make up a fancy gift certificate on your computer... Could be just so many hours for whatever they'd like you to do (they choose), or you could offer something specific, like painting a room, washing their carpets, weeding or creating flower beds, cooking meals, cleaning out the garage, etc. Offer to do something they either don't have the time to doo, hate to do, or that you have the skills to do and they don't.
Congratulations on your attitude about a parent remarrying!

That is very nice of you. I guess you like her a lot then.

What I suggest is writing or finding a nice poem, printing it on nice paper with a nice font and outline and frame it. Maybe along with some nice candles and candle holders that match the frame. It's something that your dad will appreciate because it came from the heart and something his new wife will love because it will decorate her home and give something for her to hold on to.

And try Target. I really love the frames and candle holders they have there.

Another thought is to frame the wedding invitation instead of a poem.

Check out www.customweddingsolutions.com/attgifts.html

You can choose from several great gift ideas. My husband's mom got remarried in July and we got them a wooden cd holder with their picture lasered on it. (about $50) They also have photo albums you can engrave and then fill with pictures of the three of you. (about $25) You can also a photo frame engraved. ($13.95). They also have things like personalized cake and knife servers. Check them out.

A great Gift Idea is , Get a box, a colorful one. Inside it, do a juicy bacterial infected pooh and then wrap the box up.
They will love it and remember you forever.

OK about how much you got cause you can always go on eBay or try to find some kind of site like that cause e Bay isn't always the cheapest place. You can google it also.

If you have a hobby create something for them. Or put together a photo album with pics of you and your dad and his new wife. Things that are done from the heart parents always LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I know I am a parent.
