I have taken IT as I would like to make a career in the apllications of IT to power sector.Similarly you decide which field fascinates you most.Take a book on career options in engineering and go through all the engineering streams and see which field offers what.Keep in mind the work environment in which an engineer of a particular branch works and the nature of work he has to do.I did it and found it to be very useful.
