White people can hate too?!? Quite frankly lovey, any person on the face of the earth can hate or be racist, no matter what their skin colour & ethnicity is. All sterotyping is bad.
There is no excuse for racism and I think that people themselves that are a victim of racism shouldn't stoop to that level of ignorance and become racist themselves. Not all black people, white people etc are racist..that horrible behaviour comes from that person's own heart and lack of human values, it doesn't stem from them being a certain colour/ ethnic make up.
Don't let your mother decied for you who you can and can't date. I do understand where you are coming from as my bf is Chinese and his mother doesn't like black people nor are his parents thrilled with his siblings marrying white people and my bf dating me. His parents have tried a suprise setting up at a wedding with my bf.. seating him next to a Chinese girl, but it backfired as while her and her parents were interested in him, he was not interested in her as he loves and wants only me. There is no way my bf would give me up because his parent's said 'jump' and if you really love this guy, you won't too.
Just be proud of yourself that inspite of your mother, you don't share the same racist beliefs. I really admire that about my bf, his parents have a lot of negative sterotypes about people but my bf choose to do his own thinking and reject what he knew in his own beautiful sweet heart was wrong. Had he not given people a chance and just believed them to be the way his parents think they are.. he would not have been open to dating me and both he and I would have missed out on the love of our lives.

MAN. I totally get where you're coming from. I'm asian (making my parents asian) discriminate against.. err colored people. I don't know why! don't take it out on me, it's just how most asian folks are. If you love this guy.. then your parents GOTTA respect your wishes to be with him no matter what. instead of beating you down about this.. they should be showing you encouragement and support. tlak to your parents about it, how great you feel when you're around him and the way he makes you feel. maybe you should show to your parents that they're not bad people or whatever they think african americans are like. prove to them that he's worthy of being your boyfriend.
LOVE DOESN'T DISCRIMINATE!
I bet he's really hurt, how your parents are acting :(
i hope ALL goes well. As long as you love him, nothing should mattter right?

You sound like you are still very young, judging by the way you typed your question. So this may not be someone you will end up marrying (this is the weddings section).
Good for you, for not thinking the way your mother does. However, you have a difficult road ahead if that is her viewpoint. Stand up for what you think is right.

Asian moms are very determined and set in their ways. I don't think you will ever convince her to let you date the race she doesn't like. But then people date who ever they choose everyday. Your just going to have to go for it without your mothers consent and hope for the best. And most asian women are gorgeous so it's not like you can't get almost any guy you want and if this is the one that makes you happy you have to consider that

mot people refuse to see the bigger picture. why should anyone hat a person just based on skin colour, when they dont have the slightest clue what the person is about. I for one, I'm mixed race and my cousin [who's fully dark skinned] is married to a Chinese girl. they've got the cutest kids and have the blessings of all parents. it took a while but it is. stay on the isue with your momma, she'll come to see things your way...xx

if you are in her home just respect her wishes but if you arent living with her then you have o make decisions about who you date for you she is entitled to her opinion but it isnt good that she has a stereotype about black men it could be an asian white black indian mexican whatever anyone of them could hurt you cant judge it on the skin just the person; she needs to open her mind to that

Speak to your mom about it. You should love whoever you want. Racism is a bad thing and she shouldn't be saying that stuff like "I hate black people " to try an influence you.

Don't let your mom choose your love for you. Go with what you want. Colors of people does not matter. Tell your mom every color has good and bad in it.

Tell your mom this is America and to get over herself. One of the sacrifices you make when you come to this country is that you DON'T get to tell your kids what to do forever! If people don't like freedom they shouldn't come here.

Wow, Introduce your black boyfriend to your mother and let them have a go at learning about their "cultural "differences.
