Does the guy act nervous around you? Does the way he talk change when you come around? Does his eyes meet yours?
If the guy is shy as you say.. he won't be making any physical signals. It's all about the unspoken.. err non-physical signs. Take your time, he'll eventually open up to you and want to ask you out. He's just insecure or maybe he's fearing rejection. If he knew that you liked you, maybe it will be easier for him to go out with you. Good luck!

If a guy you want to date is stupid enough not to ask you, my advise is not to fall for him. Chances are he will remain stupid for the rest of his life, and you will get turned-off later on.
However, if he really is just a shy type as you have said so, then try giving him a hint (that you would want to go out on a date but no one is asking you to.) Perhaps he should get the cue to ask you.

Blushes a lot. Looks away when talking but is still smiling. Light but quick touches that start to linger after awhile

if he smiles at u or looks like he wants to talk but is 2 shy....just talk 2 him so he can get use to you

if you catch him looking at you and he quickly averts his gaze, he's probably interested. he might try to find little nice things to do for you, in a gentlemanly way. if he seems more nervous around you than others, he probably likes you. my son is a very shy guy and 16, so i know a little about it.

try to talk with that shy guy, and see the reactions.... if he is intrested you will see it some way!
I think the main thing is to get friends with that shy guy at first.... some "warming up" at first...

If he hangs out and spends time with you already, he likes you. Also, if you're hot he likes you. I'd say if you're a 7 or above then he likes you.
