I'm not sure if I was having an actual conscious out-of-body experience, but I think it almost killed me. All I remember was that I was laying on my back in bed, couldn't move. I was so scared, but all I could do was try to scream for help but it was useless. And all I could hear was a loud, high-pitched, ear piercing noise that would intensify the more I struggled, and my skull felt extreme pressure as if were about to explode or implode.....
Has anyone experienced this before?

There could be a lot of explanations on this but I've really been into practicing OBEs lately and haven't quite got the hang of it.

It happens to me all the time. It's called sleep paralysis. Common too. People who have had ghost presence, or ufo abduction experience have all been through sleep paralysis.

Sleep paralysis is a condition in which someone, most often lying in a supine (face up) position, about to drop off to sleep, or just upon awaking from sleep realizes that s/he is unable to move, or speak, or cry out. This may last a few seconds or several moments, occasionally longer. People frequently report feeling a 'presence' that is often described as malevolent, threatening, or evil. An intense sense of dread and terror is very common. The presence is likely to be vaguely felt or sensed just out of sight but thought to be watching or monitoring, often with intense interest, sometimes standing by, or sitting on the bed. On some occasions, the presence may attack, strangling and exerting crushing pressure on the chest.

yep, hundred times, no biggie. It is sleep paralysis, which is disturbing to the untrained. Get a book called "Adventures Beyond the Body" by William Bhulman. There is no finer, more informative, and easier to understand book on the subject. I've bought HUNDREDS of dollars worth (read em all) that was the first one and I never came close to any other as helpful. Good Luck Sojourner

Very interesting. Sorry , I am no expert but I believe that astral projection happens. The head part reminded me of a person remembering their birth. I like you. You are intelligent and curious about new experiences.

yes you are. dont you have someone to teach you? it can traumatize you. the astral plane is full of "creatures" we dont see every day. you may say they are ghosts, jinns, demons, etc. in phisical world we may not see them and touch them, but in this the astral plane, anything can happen.

what you have experienced is a normal thing that happens in OBE learning. next time just try to relax. dont get panicked. once you get out of your phisical body and start to float above it. take a deep breath and think that you're gonna be able to go back. it's unlike the phisical world, in phisical world, if we're lost, we run, we struggle, etc....we use our body to move. in astral plane, we dont. we use our mind. always think that you can always come back, because all you have to do is to THINK to be back to you body.

well, i can give you the details if you want me to.

Ooh! Ooh!... me...I am! it doesn't sound like astral projection to me, more like sleep paralysis and that is very common and many people find it very disturbing, some people have it happen regularly.
