My friend is graduating basic training and going onto her AIT. I would like to send her a small gift to say congratulations for sticking with it and graduating. Can you send gifts to someone at their AIT? She will be stationed in Virginia.

It depends on what you send and particularly, what kind of drill sergeants she has. Some places allow different things. You should talk to her about what kinds of things she is allowed to receive but usually food, tobacco, alcohol, cd's, games, etc are out. Photos ,cards, keepsakes, etc are allowed.

as long as it is not bigger then a shoe box if she is in AIT nothing like tobacco or something like that you should ask her if she want food because some drill Sgt will make them eat it in like two min thing like that letter are always good

The worst that should happen is she would have to put it awau until her training is over, but I am sure that she would appreciate anything from home. Go ahead, you have nothing to lose.
