HIV can pass through a lambskin condom. It shouldn't be able to pass through a latex condom - I think someone is lying to you. The accurate information is available online - check it out, and don't believe everything you are told. As to how long it takes for the virus to show up in the body, what do you mean? How long does it take for the virus to make you sick? Or how long before a blood test will show the presence of antibodies? You need to be more specific.

HIV symptoms can be difficult to detect. Early symptoms of HIV resemble those of the flu or a cold. In fact, the disease often has no symptoms until it progresses into AIDS and symptoms of opportunistic infections emerge. Severe AIDS symptoms may take anywhere from two to ten years to develop.

Early symptoms of HIV include the following:
abdominal cramps
enlarged lymph nodes
fatigue
fever
headache
joint pain
muscle aches
nausea and vomiting
skin rashes
sore throat
weight loss.
