I have this problem too. I have found that any of the straightening balms help protect your hair some. I usually use them when my hair is damp and then i blow dry it. There is a new tool that dries and straightens at the same time; it should cut the damage down quite a bit

I straighten my hair every day without adding any product, and I have never fried it. One thing you need to be sure of though is that your hair is completely dry. If it is moist the steam created with the heat of the straightener will damage it.

VO5 Miracle Mist...Its amazing, it goes on really thin becuase its a mist, that way you dont end up with greasy hair, and you dont get split ends, or dry hair after straightening

They have "heat protection" sprays but if you use a ceramic plated straightener, you don't have to worry about your hair frying.
