I've seen alot of Christians on here claim that Hitler repented and became a Christian before he died, and that he's in heaven. I've also seen Atheists use that against Christianity, saying how can someone so evil be forgiven like that...but he committed suicide right? So doesn't that cancel out any repenting he did? Aren't suicide's unforgivable in the church's eyes so why do people bring this up, or use it against religion?

Whether suicide is unforgivable by the 'church' is irrelevant, it's God that holds the book. Suicide is wrong not only in the bible, but also the Quran, Torah, and the fundamentals of Buddhism. In Christianity the original Greek of 'Thou shalt not kill' was thou shalt not murder, or kill for no reason or with malice. If one commits suicide they are breaking that commandment by murdering, killing, themselves. Hitler, being a Nazi, never attended church and actually was of Jewish descent. The only church Hitler noticed was the Catholic church who signed a peaceful concordance with Hitler to allow their churches to remain in Germany.

God is the only one who knows Hitler's true heart, so Atheists cannot use this against Christianity because I can say I am the Queen of England, but God knows I am not, right? Not to mention that everyone else knows this as well. You cannot FOOL God, so if the Atheists want to use this as an example...then I say go for it...because any real Christian will see this mistake.

Secondly, Christians do believe in a thing called purgatory. As far as I know, its the place where souls go before Judgement Day to purge their sins. Hitler might be here, and eventually, yes he could go to Heaven...or he could not.

As for suicide's being unforgiveable in the church's eyes, yes committing suicide is murdering yourself and is therefore evil. However, again I said, I think a person who commits suicide could go to purgatory and possibly purge his sins.

In the end, its what YOU believe. I'm an Episcopalian, considering to converting to Islam and yet I try and read up on everything and decide for myself what I believe. Personally, God gave us choices....if I go to church and blindly believe what the priest tells me, how is that a choice? No. Educate yourself and then make your choice.

I've studied much about WWII and I see no indication that Hitler became a Christian when he died. However, if he committed suicide and between the act and death he asked for forgiveness then he would be forgiven

The Christian way of thought is different than the world's. Ours is grace and mercy (or supposed to be) where the world will tend to make you every penny owed. Ours involves freedom whereas the world's generally involves domination. The Christian lifestyle is definately not for everyone.

Another little tidbit you may be interested in. Hitler's body was never actually found.

Adolf Hitler was raised Catholic and was never condemned, excommunicated, or chastised for his actions while he was alive.

As for repenting...according to Christian myth, it doesn't matter what his crimes were: If he did indeed repent of his sins, then he's in with God. He could have exterminated the entire population of Europe to the last man woman and child, and he would have gotten in as long as he repented. Did he? There is no evidence of that.

He didn, however, publicly and privately declare that he thought he was doing God's plan by doing what he did. Here's a scary thought: What if he was?

There is absolutly no evidence that Hitler repented at the end... usualy he is used as an example of "what If" he repented. That is a ploy of the forces of evil that they encourage those who are anti Christain to use inorder to muddy the water so to speak and confuse those who might be seeking God... that is just another of manysuch confusions that are used to keep people from seeking The Truth of God's Word and Will for them.

Suicide is a much debaated issue among many Christians... For some it is absolutly unforgivable...for otheres it is a bit based on circomstances... It is not clearly defind in The Bible to most peoples satisfactipon... What about one who willingly gives his life to save another?... that is still suicide... raises questions for sure.

Some Christians claim a lot of things. Hitler did not "repent" and even if he did he was responsible for the death of millions of people - not just Jews. If there is a hell, he's got a room right next to Satan's.

First, I've never seen or heard anything, until you just mentioned it, about Hitler repenting at the end. I'd like to see some proof of that.
Second, With out any proof, anyne making that claim is just trying to justify their own sins so that they can feel good about themselves. ie "I'm not as bad as Hitler, so I should go to heaven."
Third, We as mortal humans will never really know where Hitler and those like him ended up until we die. It is entirely up to the Judgement of God.
Fourth, Pray for the atheists. These people live with no hope for the future other than death. They are people who use the denial of any god in any religion to justify their own actions in life. With no consequences after death, there is nothing fear. Yet, you'll often hear them use phrases like "My god","Christ" or "Holy something". So long as they use these phrases they still have some belief in something beyond themselves.

First of all, I have never in my 48 years of life seen any proof of Hitler becoming a Christian before he died. He was a pagan to the evil extreme. As far as committing suicide, although it is not what God wants, you won't lose your salvation because of it. The only way to not get to Heaven is by not accepting Jesus as your savior.

You can't kill yourself and think your going to heaven so that rules that out. If he really felt bad and repented(cuz only God knows your heart), he can be forgiven, in the bible it's says ALL sins can be forgiven except those commited against the Father, Son or Holy Spirit.

I dont know about Hitler being a christian but i do know this. Jesus died on the cross to save us from our sins and whoever shall believe in him shall have eternal life in heaven. Suicide is a sin but from what i understand Jesus can save us from that too.

As for Hitler Ive never heard of him becomming a christian right before he died.
