Depends on the felony. if it involved domestic violence or a weapon of any kind.. then no, you are permanently disqualified.
as for other non violent felonies.. depends..on a whole bunch of stuff. What was it for, how long ago was it, what have you done to turn your life around since then, and the needs of the Military. Plus the whole chances of a waiver being approved and the willingness of a recruoiter to put in a lot of extra man hours on your application.

Hard to answer because I do not know what you were convicted of, and I don't think I should know.
There are special conditions depending on the crime, how long you were in prison, etc. Only a Army or Marine recruiter can help you. In most cases the answer is no, but like I said, there are special considerations. What you may have to do is provide letters from officals, friends, family, etc., that show this was a one time mistake. Also, if your allowed in, it will be mostly a 2 year contract, and an occupational specialty that requires no security clearance. For the US Air Force and Navy it is 100% no.
PS: And for the Canadian who thinks we are all Felons....My retirement pay is $3600 a month...not bad for a felon or!

Generally, no. Though the Army may be able to get you a waiver. Talk to a recruiter; I'd recommend talking to the highest ranking person in the office.

I guess that would be a good way to get rid of felons, send them to the front lines.

Not any more. The last time they allowed criminals in the service was during the Vietnam war.
