Hair gel works, it's amazing! Try the "got 2b glued" product line available at most local drug stores & when your expecting a high humidity or rain is in the forecast, use these styling products as they are great to keep the frizzies away! I have found when you apply the hair gel when hair is wet, then blow it dry is most beneficial. If hair is dry already, Sabastian molding mud is wonderful, & also try "Dirty trix" by Matrix.

You can try all of these things you are recommended on this page and then take it from me...if it is raining either pull your hair back or go curly. Even people with straight hair get frizzy on a rainy day. How can we curly girls be expected to compete!
The scientific explanation would be that there are bonds in your hair that make your hair strands the shape they are...in your case probably either wavy or curly. When you blow your hair out (use a silicon straightening product) You have gone against the natural bond of your hair and temporarily made it straight. Here is the catch...
When you re-wet your hair you re-activate those bonds. So even if your hair is just picking up the humidity (which is just a fancy way to say water in the air) you will get frizz. If it gets totally wet your hair will go back to it's natural state (either wavy or curly). Just think about it like this...Your hair WANTS to be in it's natural state. That is just the facts.
Even wavy and curly hair that has been chemically straightened has a huge tendency toward frizzness on rainy days. So...as I said. Go with the pony.
