Get a life and get out of your bible for 5 minutes today. The Xmas tree is a leftover from Druid religion, and it is fun, pretty, and smells good, keeps many people employed. If I really wanted to get picky, I would accuse you of idolitry for having little statues of christ around your//// whatever. What is wrong with Christianity is people like you who want to carry everything to extremes, read a passage and assume that everything in the book is literal. Give it a rest and get real. You must live a miserable life sorting out what is godly and what is not....and I bet you really do not have much fun in this world. God gave us the capacity to have fun, and he did NOT mean it to be wasted. You are wasting God's gift.

Yeah, your point is well taken, but you are missing the point.
Most people are not sincere when it comes to their religion, they only have it because of the parents, family, country or origin, thus they could care less which pagan god they are worshiping as long as they are having fun and following along like a herd of buffalo about to go over the cliff. Most never think, is the right or wrong, is this the truth or not.
Most people assume that every other religion is like there own and thus never look elsewhere or even study what they have. People just accept the generally accepted religion and never think twice about it.
Christianity, was not a roman or Greek religion for that matter. Christianity was forced upon many by the rulers. Being that the people longed for their pagan religious festivals, many pardons were given to allow the people to incorporate their previous pagan symbols and festivals into Christianity, as Valentines Day incorporates Venus and Cupid of the pagan religions.
But, the question really is, IS THERE A GOD? If so, which GOD is the real GOD and which are false Idols? If any of you really wants to know... You will have to do your research. Do real research into ALL of the worlds religions focusing on who the personality of their GOD is.
ENJOY

Actually I think Christmas Tree idea was borrowed from non Christian religions.
And it had little to do with sex.
Many Pagan cultures used to cut boughs of evergreen trees in December, move them into the home or temple, and decorate them. 7 Modern-day Pagans still do. This was to recognize the winter solstice -- the time of the year that had the shortest daylight hours, and longest night of the year. This occurs annually sometime between DEC-20 to 23. They noticed that the days were gradually getting shorter; many feared that the sun would eventually disappear forever, and everyone would freeze. But, even though deciduous trees, bushes, and crops died or hibernated for the winter, the evergreen trees remained green. They seemed to have magical powers that enabled them to withstand the rigors of winter.

no, under no circumstances. are you asking if that is incorrect to no longer positioned one up while you're christian? if so, as a catholic, i do no longer evaluate it incorrect in any respect. the trip isn't with reference to the tree or the provides. i think of that in basic terms better right into a difficulty-free custom. it somewhat does not have something to do with the start of christ, that's what the trip celebrates besides. the trip is in basic terms to remind of you of the start of christ and to get you into the spirit of giving, that's a substantial seen christmas. so that's certainly no longer incorrect to no longer positioned up a tree. merry christmas!

That's what I do not get about people trying to ban Christmas tree displays. The druid actually started it and they put offerings on them for as you said, fertility and hopes for a good harvest and things of that nature. I do not get why Atheist who try to ban them from being on display during the Christmas season, think it is a religious symbol. I mean come on, get a clue, will you.

The Christmas tree is just a fun tradition. There is nothing wrong with it. It doesn't have anything to do with religion except maybe the fact that it is named after the holiday of Christmas and THAT being when we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ
You are reaching really far to make up the stroy that you are telling.
Now ask me about a "holiday" tree and I have a LOT to say.........

Don't use the cross then because that's an ancient fertility symbol too. Oh and don't have a calendar because each day is named after a pagan God. Actually, don't ever go suntanning because it means you are a sun worshiper.

Ok Sigmund Freud! The cross is a fertility symbol too! Think about it for a minute!
Got it? Good. Now chill out and leave my tree alone.

Well, it's a little spare and scrawny this year, and is leaning to the right. Also, there are a couple of lights out.
Love, Jack.
