Yes they can. They need to set some ground rules like NO SEX but then they can be friends. I have had a fantastic guy friend for 10 years. We got the sex thing out of the way when we first started being friends and it has been a great relationship. We can talk to each other about our love lives and no one is jealous or condemning. We give and receive honest answers.

Of course they can. I have several friends of the opposite sex that I have been friends with for years. Never wanted to be romantically involved with any of them. Just friends.

sure they can. i have plenty of guy friends. in fact, most of my friends are guys. even if the guy and girl used to go out (boyfriend/girlfriend), i think it's still possible to be become just friends. sometimes coming out of that situation is hard, but if you put your feelings towards them aside and try to treat them like they were one of your friends, i think it would make it easier to just be friends. im in a situation myself where i like this guy and i've bn told he likes me, and the first time we met he kissed me out of the blue (on the lips of course), and sure, after that i wanted to be with him more, but at the same time i think he likes me more as a friend, and i can deal with that. i'd rather be friends with him than to not have any relationship with him at all. he's a nice guy, and as long as he's happy, then i'm glad for him.
