Why so many denominations in Christianity?

Seems to be a splintered religion. Seems christians always have an answer for everything. Interested to see the results!

They all want their particular brand to be right.

Makes you wonder how this can be the truth if they can't even agree with each other doesn't it.

It is not only Christians you have different denominations. Nearly every world religion is that way. Taoists, Muslims, Buddhists, etc.. The best thing about Christians is that we don't (normally) fight each other like the Muslims do. We rally around one another in times of need.

Doing a research on the Bible we learn that most religions broke off from the catholic religion. This was because people did not agree with the killing and tortures done in the name of God, a few people (illegally) got ahold of Bible (it was outloawed to own a Bible back then) and started reading for themselves instead of listening to what they were taught. These groups got larger until they broke off from the church and formed their own religions. Some broke off from those, some broke off in other directions. It had to do with interpreting, and back then rapes, murders, beheadings were ok for the church, and people thought it was wrong and broke off.

Eventually people will realize they can't trust the word of God to one faction and must read for themselves, yet they must all come together to get to the same place. All roads lead to the same place don't you think?

For one people can't agree but that is with EVERY SINGLE RELIGION. There are different muslims, jews, buddists and hindus. Every single religion has different denominations. But me being catholic we have different catholics but we are still called catholic like Maronite catholics. The difference is they just speak arabic. they go to mass, confession and is in communion with the pope. They are just called catholic but what kind is maronite. That kills me because in the bible jesus tells Peter to start the church and he started the catholic church. Baptists don't know who started the baptists movement, nor do pentecostals. We do. Jesus also preached about division in the church. Peter starts a church from direct word from Jesus. the catholic church is made people leave the church becuase of their on reasons going against the division thing Jesus said and going against the catholic church, which is commisioned by jesus. Why would you go against what Jesus and peter made? Why not voice your opinions or if you don't like what the church does, don't participate don't leave and start your own thing. That is why sooooo many people are lost or don't know what to to or be.

Because in Heaven we have so much glory and splendor each of which has a different taste. So we have so many denominations to experience the beauty and the wonder of God's Joy in so many different ways.

The key is that most of the denominations agree on the important issues...salvation, forgiveness, that Jesus is Lord, etc. They may disagree on whether women should wear hats in church or have leadership roles in the church, etc.

The really, really entertaining part is that if you treed out the history of Christianity it looks exactly like the evolutionary tree.
