It depends on the type of wine. Dry wines don't have as strong of a grape taste to them as sweeter wines do. It depends on the type of barrel they were fermented in. Oak flavors wine nicely.
It also depends on the type of grape, the region is was grown in and also other environmental factors.
Many vineyards offer samples to those 21 and over in the US (the legal drinking limit) Just make sure if you decide to do this that you have a designated driver along so you get home safe.
There are many very good local wineries located all over the US. If you are interested in finding some, just use your favorite search engine to look up tourist information for the state you want. Have fun and remember, you don't have to be a connosiur to enjoy wine, you just have to be responsible about it!

Wine tastes like the fruit it is made from with either a sour taste or a sweet taste, Something like pop, but only a stronger flaver. White wine is sour, red wine is sweet.
White wine is usually sipped before dinner to increase appetite, whereas, Red wine is enjoyed as an after dinner drink.

Fermented grape juice.
Have you ever noticed how with grape juice, the white grape juice (which actually comes from green grapes, not white) tastes different from regular? The same is true for wines.

wine is available in a variety of flavours
the basis of course is grapes, so fermented grapes is the primary flavour
beyond that there are berries, spices, woods, and a myriad of additional flavours that come out in certain wines
why not try a few for yourself

acquired. first time you try it you'll prob hate it, but the more you stick with it, the more you'll realise what people are on about when they say one wine tastes like peaches and gooseberries and the other like battery acid and vinegar.
