The Bible does not say that God created man in His own likeness.
It say that He created man in His own "image". You may think that they mean the same thing, but they don't! One of the big problems with people misunderstanding the Bible is that they are not careful readers.

In the first place, God is without form, He has no likeness.

Actually, He has no image either. In the 2nd place, the sentence after, "He created man in His own image", is, "Male and female He created them". So, it's possible that the 2 sentences together may mean that God is both male and female. Now, I'm not saying that is what it means, I'm saying that is what it "could mean".

To know why God made man in the particular form that He did, you would have to ask Him. As far as I know, it's not in the Bible.Again, please be a careful reader, I didn't say that the Bible doesn't say why God created man, I said that it doesn't say why He made man in the particular "form" that He did.

You will probably hear some people tell you why God made man in this form. I believe that you will only get guesses.

By the way, I would encourage you to ask God why He chose to create man in the particular design that He did. He may tell you. I find that if I ask, God will explain many things to me, and I am no one special. Why not try it, and then be especially watchfull for the next few days for the answer?

This is an add on. When I began composing this there were no answers yet. What did I tell you about guesses. Those answers that talk about similar qualities- there is nothing about that in the Bible.

Why does a drop of the sea contain everything that does the sea, but in microscopic form? Why does the microcosm contain everything that does the macrocosm? We are, but, a drop of the God Essence. He was lonely--wanted to experience--experiences through us.

So God could have intellectual conversations with an intelligent being that would communicate with self assurance.

And so he could expand on the greatest of all of his qualities...... LOVE.

It just comes to show how arrogant of a species we are. GOD created us out of his own image. If he did, why did'nt he create humans first?
