Ok let's say you were with someone for a year or more, now you've been broken up for a few months. How long does it take for "our song(s)" to stop affecting you? Does it ever stop?

They seem to play them more now, it's like the DJ knows about us and is trying to torment me.

It might take a while Baby... There are songs from my ex and I that I still hear and remember him but I feel absolutely zero for him... In all honesty it took about two years to entirely rid my body and mind of wanting him... He broke my heart but now I can honestly say I found real LOVE after him... Have patience and go with it... Find a way to accept hearing them and it will get easier. And before you know it a new girl will come along...! ~ Best wishes to you Baby doll ~ You are cute so I am sure it wont take long to find a special girl..

I really can't say. There is a song that every time I hear it I always stop and think about her. I have not seen or talked with her for over 20 years. I still can see her and some of the things we did together in my mind. So in my humble opinion it never stops because it is in fact a memory that time may not erase unless we want it to

Damn, I know that feeling, I recently broke up with someone I was with for 4 years and the songs still make me get all emotional. The feeling will pass when you find someone else and make new songs. Nothing marks the end of a relationship like the start of a new one.

The songs will always have an effect, but it won't always bring a tear. 10 years and I still stop ,listen, think back and maybe smile, once you have found a new life the pain won't be there it will just bring back hopefully the fond memories of another time.

I'm not sure you ever get over it. At any time that song could trigger a memory. It may not happen every time you hear the song, but it could happen. Hopefully, with time, the memories become easier to handle.

some songs.................like the women they remind us of , take longer to forget than others ...........

hang in there , there will be more of both in the near future .........

be glad you have the memories .............one day when you are old , you can look back at all " our song(s) " and smile ..........

cheers !
