The Bible tells us to pray in private. What you are talking about is more like thanking or acknowledging, which yeah can be done any time anywhere. Does it disturb you that something is 'flexible'? Do you prefer chains and a law that all must abide by to give thanks or pray at a certain time and in a certain way? Do you feel insecure without rigidness and fear freedom and flexibility? Or are you simply saying it must not be real because there aren't enough 'controls' put on it? Either way that's a form of brainwashing if you think it must be rigid to be right.

Jesus told us exactly how to pray ...the Lord's Prayer is in the Bible...and He even told us how NOT to pray. You haven't read much of the Bible, have you? You seem to be more interested in making fun of the one who created you and will judge you. You are going to really feel like the fool you are on that day when every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord to the glory of God the Father. Please consider getting a new attitude/a new life while there is time to repent. You only have this day; tomorrow may not come.

The Bible does tell you how to pray. All through the Bible there are examples of prayers. When I pray I know that I am talking to my best friend and I can say anything. Jesus is all and knows all so you only have to talk.

This is the most asinine question I have come across. Why don't you try READING the Bible with some understanding (maybe join a Bible Study class) so you comprehend the material in context.
In regards to your question, I suggest starting with the New Testament (which is the covenant we are under) and read Matthew, Mark Luke and/or John where Jesus is teaching the masses as well as His Disciples how GOD wishes man to communicate with HIM.
Good Luck (if you truly are searching for an answer)

Prayer is communicating with GOD! If we define it that way,we can pray anytime anywhere provided that if we do things according to God's word, for example,if you are having sex only with your wife under holy marriage you can pray at that time too i.e you are thanksgiving Him with everything He provided for you.Because the Bible says in 1Thessalonians5:17 "Pray continually".
Anyways what matters is if you beleive truely that you have to pray and your willingness to do so at any circumstance.

God knows and reads ur mind even before you try to do so. Your understanding of God is something u can only feel but your words can not express. The Bible told us how to pray , even the Lord Jesus Christ has told us exactly how to pray. Please refer to the Bible (Luk 11.2-4)
Jesus Christ has told us exactly how to pray and what to ask for... God is pure and is Light. And HE who created the earth and Heavens deserves your full attention and devotion while praying and communiacting with HIM. Pray and HE will guide you. Have faith in that. For in a true honest prayer, all what you ask you SHALL receive. The Lord Jesus Christ told us so.

A young monk asked his superior the same question , the reply was in affirmative..i.e. you can pray while havig sex or smoke or drinking but not the other way round.
the idea is prayer should be the primary act and not otherwise

Because he knows Your prayer even before You say it. So there's really no point in praying. That would be redundent.

it does tell us how to pray. the disciples asked jesus "lord how do we pray?" and he said we pray like this:
Our father
who art in heaven
hallowed be thy name
thy kingdom come
thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven
give us this day our daily bread
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us
and lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil
for thine is the kingdom and the power
and the glory for ever
you don't have to only use this prayer, that's not what he was saying. but, if you notice, there's kind of a format or suggestions in this prayer. first you address him as God, recognize that he is God, that he is worthy of thanks and praise, make your petition...
