I've used the same ones for 6 months, is this too long? How long do you keep yours for?

Mr Hello ~
In my opinion, you should get rid of them when you start to smell the order of sweat and the padding has shifted, it's easy to tell because there will be a separation of the padding causing a crease in the glove usually in the knuckle area. Most gloves should last you at least a couple of years depending on the usage of course. I've had my Grant Gloves close to four years already, although I do not fight anymore I still workout 3 times a week and hit the Wall Pad for eight rounds and the Heavy bag for 8 rounds each and every time I workout and they're in great shape. Ringside sells a product called "Glove Dogs" they absorb sweat from inside you gloves that might be a good investment for you, also wipe your gloves down with mink oil or leather cleaner or in the case where you don't have any of that stuff, you can use Vaseline that will keep the leather from cracking and splitting plus it helps the stitching from drying out. Every now and then Reyes, Grant and Tuf-Wear are on sale at Ringside, just look up their websites on your computer. In my opinion stay away from Everlast, not a very durable glove, Good Luck Mr. Hello.

i've kept mine for longer and they're still ok. i think once the padding gets squashed and you see some wear and tear, that's the time to get some new ones. If you got a good quality pair, and they're still good, there's no reason to change them until they limit your performance.

as long as you want, just use it until it rips. Or if its hurting your hand when you punch, then you get a new one.
