A lot of the asthma of young is asthmatic bronchitis related to a respiratory infection. As the child develops immunity, the attacks will stop and the same goes for antibody development in true asthma.

One of my children was asthmatic, I'll never forget all the hosptal visits and nights and days we spend there. She's 25 yrs old now and she seem to have started growing out of it when she was in her junior year in high school. The visits became less and less and then it stop. The only thing is now, when she gets a very bad cold, it somehow trigger the wheezing and breathing all over again and she have to go to hospital for treatments.
It all depends on the climate, the child, and whether they are pretty active. I like you question it, but the advantage you have over my daughter is, the children don't have to keep going to hospitals as much as I did , because treatments can be given at the home now.

I'll let you in on a chinese remedy...and it's not a joke! I've heard of people getting CURED from asthma after consuming cooked crocodile meat. They said it tasted like a slighter tougher texture of chicken meat.
