It's important for me to state quite explicitly that it is not a matter(for me) of not believing in the existence of God. I believe that there are probably beings who may as well be called gods but I do not believe any of them was 'the creator'.
Say there was a supposed Creator, then would he not need another Creator to be called into existence, and so ad infinitum?
So if man were modelled on God, then yes, man is another 'God' in an infinite 'product line' of Gods. Not to mock religion but that takes out most of the novelty of Godhood, doesn't it?
God or rather Gods are aliens (or alter-dimentional beings) according to certain religions, especially Buddhism. Buddhist scriptures specifically state that these beings are not absolved of sin. Infact if we define merit to be the opposite of sin, then these beings have such merit that Earthly sorrows are not for them. Nirvana can only be achieved by absolving oneself of all sin and merit. How? That's what Enlightenment is all about, it's an understanding that must come from within the intellect and is to put it frankly the ultimate how-to guide.

We were created by God, the one true Creator and Lord of all. And no, if we were created in God's image, that does not make Him a man. "In his image" means that our traits are similar to his, or that we "take after him", the way a son may look like his father.

God is not "from" anywhere. He ultimate dwelling place is Heaven, but his presence is everywhere, so he is not an alien.

Hope that helps!

God bless!

God is the creator and created Man from his own image per the Bible. In Judaism I think its different not sure. In Islam, God did not create man out of his own image but is a supreme power.

Thats all I know.

Imagine an image of the total universe. It has God at it's center and a whole lot of material stuff all around it. We are material beings with God at our center. That is the similarity of image, not that God has an animal body like we do. In addition to that, God gave us creativity like He has, only in a limited way that humans can handle. We are able to use this creativity to imagine that we are not part of God's greater reality if we want to. That is free will. Or we can use our creativity in ways that are in harmony with God's will. If we choose to do that, then we grow in Grace and become more like God and less like animals. Earth is part of the universe and the Universe is God's home, He is not an alien anywhere. And, lastly, we are made in God's image in that we are able with our bodies to create new life, the biggest creativity of all. You can think and grow and become more and more real in God's image or you can decline and die. That is your choice.

You were created by the ONE true God, Jehovah. The Bible says there are other "gods." Satan, Jesus, money, your stomach etc.Today people feel that movie icons and sports figures are gods. You were created in Gods image by his attributes and qualities. You don't look like God because he is a spirit and no one knows what he looks like except for his son Jesus who was with him in his bosom position. John 1:18
