Depends on what you mean by "cleaner", but I think the general answer would be "no". However, it has different ensymes that enables them to consume extremely dirty food (think rodents); and, in combination with their abrasive tongue, to keep their fur clean (I have been amazed on what they manage to clean off their pelt with not all that much effort).

However, if a cat gets a wound, it is not good to let them lick it off, and not take more care of it - their salive is not sterile; in combination with the abrasive tongue, they can make the wound bigger, without cleaning it much. It's just their instinct to apply light pressure where they hurt (think scratching their front if they get in a scuffle with bee or wasp).

Cat saliva on your broken skin: NO! both chemically and psychologically, it's a very bad idea. If the cat licks your fingers... I'd advise washing your hands, even for an all-indoors, de-wormed, etc. cat. Just in case.

It does depend on what you mean exactly. I think that cat saliva is cleansing, rather than clean. It is full of antiseptic which cures the cat when it licks its wounds and resists infection from self-grooming. Cats are probably the cleanest of all animals. Problems arise if the cat is sick; feline aids is transmitted from cat to cat via saliva.
People who complain about cat bites aren't talking about the saliva; it is the puncture of the bite on dirty human skin that can cause infection in humans.
Human saliva is not that efficient. I still lick my finger if I cut it; it helps a bit. But if I let my cat lick it, it heals faster and feels better.

I have heard and read that there is more types of bacteria in a human mouth than that of a cat or dogs but I have no idea it is true. Here is what I found in my research.

Is a dog's mouth cleaner than a human's?

To a human it is -- Despite a habit of licking things no human would dare, Fido's mouth is often touted as scientifically more sterile. Truth is, oral bacteria are so species-specific that one can't be considered cleaner than the other, just different.

Here is a girl who did a science project on the question of who's mouth was cleaner, a cat's, a dog's, or a human's. She concluded in her experiment that a human's mouth had less bacteria. Here is the link to her project.

Hope this helped answer your question.

I would think there cleaner than a dogs, as dogs eat other animals poop and roll in dead things, while cats have sand paper like tongues.
But I know alot of people will think im wrong.

In grooming school I got bit by a thirty pound cat and I almost lost my finger even though I went to the hospital and had it checked out. A cats bite is the worst, their mouth's are even dirtier than a dogs.

probability is that the adoption settlement you signed with the rescue stipulated that he be stored indoors. till you will practice him to leash and harness, then you certainly could desire to keep him indoors. faster or later he's going to wander out of the backyard, and no collar or microchip keeps a cat from being hit by a motor vehicle and left to die on the realm of the line. Or from getting picked up by animal administration while th e buddies become uninterested in him pooping of their backyard.

NO!!!!!!!!!! If you get bitten by a cat it is important to get medical attention. If it gets infected, and odds are that it will, you can get seriously ill. In the grooming business everyone knows someone, or themselves have been infected.
