when the bible says that
homosexuals, drunks and sinners will not inherit god's kingdom,

and that women should cover their heads in church, be subject to their husbands will, what do Christians make of it?

I say that these stupid comments were made by a man named Paul, and not jesus.
dont you think we christians should be ignoring pauls words and follow only jesus?

Hello s21181.. :)

If Jesus did not want Paul to follow after His teachings, then He would not have blinded him on the road to Damascus..and then have someone heal his eyes 3 days later..

Paul worshiped the Lord with all of his heart..

As for women wearing a covering..their hair is their covering not a hat..etc..also a husband is subject to his wife also..for they are One no longer two..

In Jesus Most Precious Name..
With Love..In Christ.. :)

There is a headship arrangement noted in the book of Ephesians, Chapter 5 and some of 6. There is no scriptural account that women need to cover their heads unless there is no male present to say the prayer being offered for the circumstance at that time. A woman will cover her head with a hat, scarf, etc. to say a prayer if her husband is not a believer. You need to reread those verses to understand the head covering arrangement more clearly. As for the vices of human nature you mentioned in your question, it's true, if you keep practicing such things you will not get into God's kingdom, but the Bible does say, however, that that was what some of you WERE. So, upon obtaining Bible knowledge as to how Jehovah the true God feel about such things, you can change. We want to please him, not ourselves.

I think we should follow Jesus. Paul had much to say to the different Churches, some of it was specific to his time.
But to ignore Paul's words would be to ignore half of the New Testament.

I think that you are one of those people who don't want to submit their life to the will of God and so you go through the Bible and pick out the verses that you agree with and discard the rest thereby making yourself "god" as you determine according to your own standards what determines right and wrong and how we should live our lives.

2 Peter 3:15 And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; 16 As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Where do think the words came from? You need to read your Bible some more and find out that the words came from Jesus. Paul was just the messenger.

Paul was no apostle, he never even met Jesus.

The Romans were well known for assimilating anything that they could not beat militarily. They recognized that Christianity had grown so large that they could not possibly stamp it out.

So they did the same thing that they always did when they found themselves in this position. Paul was roman, one of the first roman undercover agents if you will to gain prominence in the Christian hierarchy. His job was to subvert the faith correct the teachings so they were more palatable to roman tastes and take over and control as much of the leadership as possible. His cover story about being blinded and thrown from his horse was designed to play right into the Christian idea of a forceful Jesus that was the defender of the faith.

He was accepted by most of the Christian world and eventually trumped Peters wishes on many issues. Apparently everyone thought that Jesus had made a mistake in selecting Peter to take care of running the faith because Paul was and is still taken quite seriously.

Christianity is barely recognizable today if you compare it to what Jesus actually taught. If you read closely you can still see occasional glimpses of Jesus’ teaching in and among the nonsense that was overlaid on it by Paul and others. The roman conquest of Christianity took quite some time, but was completed in the 4th century around the time of the council of Nicea when the current bible was compiled.

Constantine also had one of these miraculous encounters with Jesus that lead to his conversion, but oddly continued to worship roman gods in private right up to his death. In public of course he was a true Christian.

The new faith that replaced the one Jesus entrusted peter with was called the universal, or Catholic Church. It is better known as the Roman Catholic Church. I guess you could call that a hint.

A truly brilliant plan actually. Made possible by the efforts of a roman double agent named Paul who called himself an apostle, but never actually met Jesus. For his loyalty and meritorious service he was later killed to cover up the truth.

So, my name is Saul, and I am a tax collector, which at the time of Jesus basically meant I was a mobster and loan shark. I come upon a group of hopeful, wishful people who followed this guy called "Jesus". I tell them that God came to me, I'm changing my name and they are to do as I tell them to. I kill a couple of this "Jesus"'s hand-picked followers because they don't do as I say, start a couple of wars, send this "Jesus"s mother and wife off to the heathen country of France because they are in my way, and now expect you to STILL beleive everything I say. If you question me, I'll do to you as I did to Thomas (death) or Mary (pick one) and send you as far away as I can, so don't you DARE question me.

I trust and believe in God's word. We are all sinners. I accept the bible completely and I do not add to it or take away from it.

Revelation 22:18-19 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

God says this and I believe God and not man.

What ignore the greatest of the teachers?
Know where Paul studied, Know what Paul was!

Paul was writing what the Holy Spirit inspired him to. He was not writing from his own intelligence. So Paul's teachings are the Holy Spirit/Jesus' teachings.
