Whenever I have been in first class, I have not seen any celebrities. Just businessmen with means. Yes...the food is better. The seats are much more comfortable. Plus you get a warm towel to wash your hands. If you are a large person and have some extra money for first class, it is worth it. If you don't care if the smaller seats in the back are smaller, and don't care if you eat Burger King in the airport, and it doesn't matter if you have some kind of chicken dish on a ceramic plate on the plane. Save you money and sit in the back of the plane. Just a note...most airlines aren't even handing out the little sack of nuts in the back anymore, so eat first, or bring something on with you.

First class has better service. The (alcoholic) drinks are included, where in economy they are not. The do not provide computers, anyone you see working on a computer in a plane has brought their own laptop on board.
The main advantage is the additional seating space. The seats are larger and the rows are spaced further apart.
As to celebrities, you may see on, but the odds are you will not. Mostly it is business travelers.

Let's put it this way: when the flight staff go through first class they ask if you'd like Burgundy or Chardonnay, when they go to business they ask White or Red, and they don't offer wine to coach. I'm not a huge fan of airline wine, lol, but I think this difference explains it all. If you can appreciate this type of service/class of service to the tune of two to four times the price of a coach seat, and you can afford it, go for it.

well, lets take Emirates Airlines for example.
First Class on Emirates is like dream travel, private cabins, delecious food, great service, over 500 channels of non-stop entertainment, alot of BED space, and excellent value for money

The seating is a bit more roomy, and its near the front exits. My husband likes it for the constant availability of alcohol. I've not noticed any celebrities. I much prefer it.

UAL first class is nice. Champagne, grilled salmon entree, free drinks. Instead of peanuts you actually get a very nice mixed nut thing. Lots of leg room too, and comfy pillows. All in all it was a First class experience (wakka wakka) lots of fun

Once I flew on a really small (50 seat) plane and it was kind of like first class. The seats are bigger, they always ask you if you want food, achol, constantly asking you what you want, and soon there will be swimming pools and gyms.

Best thing about first class as as you are sat in the front of the plane you get to your destination 0.25 seconds earlier.
