If your license are suspended for child support obligation how can you be taken to jail when you didn't know your license was suspended.

You should be notified by the department of public safety if your license is suspended, however if you are stopped by the police they do not have to have a serve date for child support obligation.

The DMV does send a letter ( not certified) normally to your address that is on your drivers licence to notify you. But there can be a dely from the time it happens to be notified.
It takes effect once it is suspended, there is no notification requirement

the county clerk's office which hold your child support order will send notification to DMV. DMV will send a notice of suspended license to the address of record. it is not the police responsibility to put you on notice. actually, notice happens when you failed to pay support.

The DMV will send a letter to your address letting you know of the suspension. Otherwise, 'ignorance doesn't mean innocence'. Regardless, you should know about the child support obligation.
