A few "old" ones stay on to recognize the "bad guys" if they come around again. (Antibodies never forget.)

You WANT those old antibodies in your system. They make your immune system healthy.

Each antibody will react against a specific antigen. If you got old antibodies, it does not mean that it will fight against all antigens. Please see the webpage for more details on Antibody.
