a pigeon has the advantage that it can fly and attack from above on its own terms.

It would be like comparing a Apache helicopter and a artillery tank with a 50 cal machine gunner mounted too. 99% of the time the Apache wins.

it would be close, because everyone knows the pigeon is just a rat with wings. i have to give it to the rat though. even though both have the glazed look of stupidity, i've seen the anger in a rat's eye's. the pigeons never have that. i'm assuming the fight would be in an enclosure, so the pigeon couldn't just fly away. great question!

The pigeon would easily win. It has flight and most likely the rat would run rather than fight.
