I would bin them.Even though they were in the freezer, food still only lasts a certain amount of time in freezers which is why we have freezers with 2,3,4, and 5 stars, it tells us how long we can keep food in them. Ive never heard of food lasting 2 years.

It would be okay to defrost, cook & eat as long as they were never previously defrosted or contaminated in any way. [2 years without an overnight power outage? Must be nice!]
What are chicken steaks? Why do you them after 2 years? The aroma emitted during cooking should alert you if they've 'turned'. I'd at least 'taste' them before I'd eat them! Even if they taste 'spicey', they don't necessarily have to kill ya! You've heard of stomach pumps & blood transfusions!
What the heck, toss 'em & go out for dinner!

Three very important questions:
1. Were they bought as fridge items and you froze them?
2. Did you freeze them well before dec 04 (ideally straight after you bought them)?
3. Do you have a 3* or better freezer (basically one which isn't just a compartment in the fridge)?
If you answered yes to all of the above, they should be safe to eat.
However, I'm guessing that they were bought frozen? If they were bought frozen then you shouldn't eat them long after the best before date, so I'd recommend chucking them.

It depends. If you put them in the freezer befor dec 04, and never defrosted them before, it should be ok.

Did you freeze them straight away, buy them frozen, or cook then freeze? they should be ok, just not very nice.
Food thats frozen for a long time generally just becomes lower quality and thats what a best before by date refers to, a use by date is for food that goes bad.
You can eat it provided you cook it properly but it'll very likely be extremly low quality in taste and texture.

You probably would be okay but I wouldn't risk it for the sake of a few £'s ! Even though frozen, most meats have a certain expiry date so if it was me I would cook them and feed them to my cats!

If they have always been in the freezer, you're safe, although they probably are freezer burnt. The expiry date refers to if the product is in the fridge.

If they've been kept frozen at the correct temperature then my guess is that they'd be ok but if you're really not sure then don't eat them.

They will have lost some of whatever quality they ever had, but they won't kill you.
Feed 'em to the dog.
