Does that make every single last one of us inbred? How does that take into consideration different races etc... Am I wrong in my assumption? Does that make Jesus inbred as well? Is that the reason why people get cancer and have disabilities and poor eyesight?

I believe that the bible is a fictional storybook of morals as well. Just curious...

Oh Daniel honey, if you are saying that my question here is making fun of other peoples beliefs then you need to think a bit harder and then see that my question is only entertaining. Maybe not to you, but then again you weren't forced to read my question and then take the time to reply either now were you ;) I think it is fine for anybody to believe in whatever works for them, was just thinking it was a funny idea that people are all inbred according to the christian bible. Apparently I'm not as educated on the bible as many others out there because I wasn't raised religiously and would like to know some other opinions on the idea.

Yup. It's taking a while for the whole thing to sink in with the religious fundamentalists. It would be a lot worse than just bad eyesight and cancer... They also had two sons - who would of had to have sex with Eve to produce more kids. It only would have taken one more generation and BAM... Limbs, eyes, orifices and other body parts would start appearing or disappearing all over the place.

Actually it's not only the Christian bible that says this, it's one of the single most assumption of most monotheistic religions (of which the 3 majors are Judaism, Christianity and Islam).
I still personally think the natural selection theory works better for me. But even in that theory we all came from the same race (or may i say Monkeys, although i am not big on the monkey idea). The differences come from tens to hundreds of thousands of evolution with minor mutations, bottleneck events and various human movement later landed us here all different.
People get cancer from eating too many bigmacs and sunbathing too much, dont really blame it on the genes. With disabilities, well **** happens. Poor eyesight - too much porn.

According to the Bible we are inbred - twice. Adam & Eve populated the world, then everyone died in the Flood, so Noah & his wife repopulated it. Noah's son, Ham, supposedly laughed at his drunken father, so Noah cursed him, then all non-whites were his descendants. That's how the South justified slavery. Jesus would have been inbred, if the Bible were true. Half of his genes came from Mary, descendant of Adam & Eve, as well as Noah, and the other half came from "God."

That's not necesarily true. It could be that God created more humans. Adam and Eve were the First man and woman, i don't know if others were created, because the bible isn't that clear. And the cancer and all of that mostly comes from all the junk we eat and the chemicals that are in the junk we eat. And cancer has been around for ages, they just didn't know what it was before the 20th century.

If we all are decended from Adam and Eve, then it logically follows that all human genetic info that exists today + a lot more that has been lost with extinct tribes etc., was once in the genetic make-up of Adam & Eve. remember they were created perfect.
All breeds of dogs are decended from one kind that held all current genes + more. The purebreds are the ones with the genetic diseases. The mixed breeds with more genetic info are healthier.
Eve was made out of Adam(his rib), Cain married his sister and you can marry your cousin if you wish(though the thought is rather icky)without any problems in your offspring.
Incest was a Levitical Law instituted by Moses long ago. One presumes that by then the genetic pool was too shallow for siblings to procreate safley.
Interestingly Levitical law is astoundingly up to date with modern medicine.

My dear Child.
Gen 1 describes the 6th day creation where a whole bunch of Adams and Eves are created and running around.
In Gen 2 it describes the creation of The Adam and The Eve through which Christ would come.
No we are not inbred!

According to scientists, humans are all descended from one proto female, which has been named 'Eve' in honor of the creation story by the Jews.
This has been determined through analysis of DNA, and is the only part of the creation story that is valid, in my opinion.

Hi,
What is it with Americans, this bible story, like many others, is not supposed to be taken literally. Have you never heard of allegory, if not at least you must have heard of parables, Jesus told lots of them. Having met Americans studying at British Universities I was aware of the lack of critical faculty produced by their education system but this degree of naivety is incredible!

I have to wonder how many of the people who are asking these questions are looking for truth or just enjoy making fun of other people's beliefs and ideas. There are answers to most if not all of these questions, but you have to get past your own self-satisfied "look how stupid they are" attitude to find them.
