Why is western european witchcraft good and african bad?
By this I mean if you look at wiccanisim its all equality for sexes, sex is a wonderful fun beautiful affectionate thing. Be nice to animals and nature heal sick folk etc...
With crystals, jossticks and chill out CDS
Whilst the african/voodoo variety seems all slaughter animals, violence, fear, scareyness etc

I may not believe in witchcraft magic... But smart enough to work out someone who is nice to bunnies is better then someone who gets insight from killing chickens and being nasty to mental patients to 'exorcise' them

Wicca has been watered down over the years my friend. The kind most people practice today could barely be considered Wicca. Wicca's origins are hardly altruisitc. It started out as a way for masochist Gerald Gardner could be beaten by strong willed women.
And the truth is, Gerald Gardner's coven did perform a human sacrifice, and Wiccans try to justify it by saying it ended WWII (LOL!) Read The Good Witch's Bible an early book on Wicca that most Wiccans cringe when you bring it up. It's an instruction manual on how to molest children, wife swap, and have orgies in the name of the Old Religion. So while you think all Wiccans are petting bunny rabbits, it ain't so.
Wicca is a quest for magic powers...which it's followers do not have.
And there are cases where Wiccans have sacrificed animals as well. Ray Marlborough, a New Orleans Wiccan and Llewellyn author says you can't achieve results w/o animal sacrifice. Sybil Leek claims her family sacrificed an owl to save her when she was sick. Sure it's bull, but this is what they say.
Christians are not evil tyrants who go around burning villages. Even if some misguided people have done things in the past in the name of religion, that doesn't mean it's what Jesus taught.
There are plenty of Chriustians like Florence Nightingale, Harriet Tubman and Mother Teresa who did great things in the name of the Christian religion.
So what if Wicca isn't as scary as Voodoo, it's still uselelss and superstitious.

You are sadly mistaken about Vodou. I practice Vodou and I can tell you there is no violence, slaughter, or fear. You think this because you are misinformed.
Vodou is about family, community, and service. My first time at a service was great. I was welcomed with hugs by everyone in the house. It was a ceremony that was light and happy, with lots of singing and dancing, and communication with the lwa.
Animals are sacrificed in the religion. It only done during certain rituals such as inititations, dessounen (funeral), or major cleansings. Every sacrifrice (except the one used for cleansings) is cooked and eaten by house members. It is very much the same thing as you going to the store to buy a frozen chicken to cook at home. We would get it fresh instead of frozen.
The animals are killed quickly so they do not suffer. It would be wrong and against Bondye (God) to allow an animal to suffer. We sacrifice the animal as an offering but in the end everyone benefits because everyone is fed.
In Haiti there is barely enough food and many people starve. When a fet (service) is held animals are sacfriced. By doing this the community benefits because all present (even if they are not house members) are invited to eat. Street children are fed. Familys are clothed and given herbal medicines. Vodou helps the community.
Any fear you may have is because you are not aware of what the religion is about. Here are a couple of website that will allow you become knowledgable of the religion and thus form an intellegent, knowledgeable idea of what the religion really is:

At the end of the Day all witchcraft is bad/evil. All of it demands blood at some stage. the films focus on what they want the viewers to see. A lot of African witchcraft does involve the use of herbs and crystals, charms and ganja! A lot of white witchcraft involves blood. Same difference, different culture! Have a look and get some real knowledge... come and join us in Africa for a while...I believe that at the end of the day... Christ is the answer!

Wicca is a modern make-up. In the olden days in the West certainly a lot of people were burnt or in England, hung for carrying out dreadful rituals, (like lining up to kiss the Devil's anus for example)and probably there was some truth in all this. Actually there has been satanic witchcraft in western Europe fairly recently. See Huysman's La bas.

The problem we have is not about using any religion to try and achieve a means of communication with a higher power, because all of that is works. Do these, do that, and you will achieve greatness in this life or another life. Jump through this hoop, or that, and you can give yourself a title, I am a this or that. Nonsense, the idea is to get connected personally to the creator of this Universe, and with that package comes all you will ever need to achieve, and it is obtained free of charge by God's grace, and His desire to have all humans playing with all of the tools necessary to be successful at the human experience. When God created us He did not create the need for any religion. He did create the need to depend on Him to guide us on a righteous path. That my friends is not religion that is reality. You simply cannot operate at full capacity without the mind of Christ and you cannot obtain that without first accepting Jesus who is the mind of Christ. Yes He had a body, yes He had a soul, and He had a Spirit. We do too and we were made in the image of God. Jesus was made as a full package from the get go. If all men had never fallen from the Grace of God we would all be just like Jesus in our soul to Spirit relationship to God. Problem is, man lost the connection and Jesus came here to restore us back to proper fellowship. This isn’t religion either.
If we are truly in fellowship with God the way it was intended, and yes that takes maintenance, because human nature has gotten away from reality, then we will begin to change into the image of God that we were created. Not our bodies, but our illuminated spirit man, who will dictate to our soul, and create the manifest being that we were intended to be. When we become that person, all that is evil will be gone, and ripples of righteousness will continually emit from our being. No sacrifice, no lying, no stealing, and no murder. It does not exist in the Spirit of God where we are supposed to dwell. The only way there is through Christ, and that is a fact, and He literally died for us to get reconnected. I am truly sorry that men have done such atrocities in the name of Jesus Christ, when it is totally the opposite of God nature. But look now at the things men are doing in the name of God. Where have all the REAL Children gone?

i think its all individuals points of views. just like the "witchcraft" in thailand. to most, they are bad and evil. but actually they do have good ones too. just that bad things always spread around faster than the good ones. also, propably european witchcraft are widely used in the western movies while african ones are not that pupolar so everyone just get the wrong ideas about them.

This is simply religion. They all say the other is wrong and carry on believing in myths and performing idiotic rites. Leave them alone and with luck they may go away some day when the world gets a decent standard of education.
