No, if you do 50 push ups every day you are going to ruin your pectoralis, shoulder and triceps. You may not be getting stronger on the other hand you are going to be weaker.
So, to achieve a good pectoral muscles, triceps and shoulders, you can restrict push ups twice in a week only.
Push ups comes under resistance training. So, you are supposed to do the resistance training for a muscle once or twice in a week.

I think so. The best way to know the truth is to try it. But if you're not used to push-ups, some advice that I would give you is to only do a few one day, take a day off and then do a few more and so on. You will be sooo sore the day after you start. Good luck.

The military uses pushups as the only measure of upper body strength to qualify in PT. So yes, they work.

while yes, but no. first of all, if you can do 50 pushup PROPERLY then you probably have a LOT of muscle to start with.
tips:
for beginners, do them from your knees, but have them back far enough that from your neck o you thighs is a slanted line.
do them SLOWLY for maximum results; don't sink or hunch in your shoulders, raise or tuck your rear end.
good luck....

Yes. Except for your biceps. They don't work at all unless you a big enough to pull the planet to you and you are obviously not that big or I would have heard about it.
