Nothing wrong with asking, but remember, God may say, "Not yet, I have work for you before you leave."

There comes a time, I have seen it, when the spirit is tired and wants even needs to go be with God. I see nothing wrong with asking for that to happen. Asking not telling. Only God has the right to say when He will bring us to Himself....Jim

We are to respect this life such as it is. And be thankful for what we have. But when someone has a painful cripling desease. I can see them asking for help crossing over to shorten the time. But everything has to be in Gods will not our own.
God knows our heart and in what spirit we come to him and ask such things. And only God knows why He does the things He does sometimes. There are going to be things we just wont know till we get there!
Peace! :)

i've known people who, in advanced stages of cancer or heart disease, ask God to 'take them home'...no, i don't believe they were wrong...this all-too human urge we have to hang on to the very last, fighting death tooth-and-nail, can cause undue suffering in cases where death is inevitable and the only question is 'how much more agony does the person have to go thru before dying?' death is NOT a bad thing...it is merely a step from one kind of life to another...but only God knows when it is time...

It's not clear what you're asking...we don't have to ask God to take us to HIS eternal home, we have to live as we Christians, to love as Christians and to die as Christians. We must let HIM in our lives day after day.

Yes. But it does not mean that suicide is acceptable.
If God says no, then they shouldn't take matters into their own hands.

Hello!! :o) I think that's an OK thing to ask of God. But one might want to ALSO ask. "If not yet God - please help me to find peace while I wait." Craig!! :o)
