Terrorists seem to have already won on peace loving people by instilling fear everywhere.. from travel to places of worship by placing bombs and all. By trying to defend the places and by policing innocent citizens and by racial profiling, most of the innocent people are becoming the most easy targets of prejudicial abuse from various authorities though the actual culprits are not caught. I know being cautious is important. but at what cost? subjecting everyone to difficulty from going on with normal lives and travel freely from one place to another?

i know this is far fetched and is very much distant from the policies of various governments of the country. but the problem of terrorism is not unilateral for any country facing the threat.
considering the condition of U.S, its policies towards middle east and its various acts in the history like creating rifts between countries in its so-called 'phobia' against communism has caused this kind of problem. Now CIA is known for creating a problem and then abandoning it and watch the show...!! thus Osama is born out of its sheer stupidity. dont everyone know that the techniques of fighting and weapons are the gift of CIA to Osama when he was their 'hero' in fighting russian troops in Afghanistan?? well, similarly, war on Iraq is not really against weapons of mass destruction but to take control of oil reserves on which the country is sitting on. other than that.. US have no motive else whatsoever.. its not even interested in re-instating democracy or reform the country..! thats just an act put up for the rest of the world. UK administration was idiotic in supporting the actions of US and backing it without consensus from other countries of the world like France etc.
Coming to issue of Israel and Hezbollah, it seems like a pretext of the U.S again to invade on he oil reserves and other resources from Iran. Since it needs a strong base.. its attacking the middle east and is trying to gain control over the region. everyone in the world knows that Israel is completely backed by USA and is not reprimanded for whatever actions it takes against anyone. thats the strength of pro-israel lobby prevelant in the white house administration irrespective of who's in power.
coming to the region of Indian subcontinent, everyone knows that terrorist activities in Kashmir region are the direct acts of sponsorship from Pakistan and U.S has complete knowledge of it. but it is not even daring to slap the wrists of Pak regime for reasons best known to itself. USA has recently made a deal about Nuclear Science/projects/defence with India. To quote better from a news article I had read, "U.S should stop selling arms to Pakistan and dreams to India". India has been the victim of cross border terrorism activities sponsored by Pakistan and it is proved and acknowledged by US govt that there are still terrorist training camps existing on the land of Pakistan. As long as US plays spoilsport activities with various countries without having any concrete policies and retreating acts from its actions, the problem persists. It is not the kind of activities one can expect from a country of caliber like that of U.S.A.

God bless the world cos I believe USA is more of a threat to rest of the world than from the terrorists.

Terrorism got a strong foothold in this world, because we stopped having the philosophy of Theodore Roosevelt. " Walk softly and carry a big stick." These Terrorist do not respect an easy going laid back attitude of live and let live. The only thing they respect is someone who will stand up kick the heck out of them. That is why we really need to stop with all of the talk crap and just do strategic military strikes on Iran, Syria, Somalia, Sudan and anyone else that want to support terrorism in any way whatsoever. It sucks, but that is just the way it is. That is reality. They haven't won squat. But, if we don't tell the U.N. to shut up and do what is needed to be done, it won't be long before they do win. I think we need to kick the U.N. out of the country and quit giving them billions of dollars every year. It is corrupt, anti-american, anti-Israel and pro-terrorist.

I don't believe there is a quick solution to acts of terror. Nations need to stop giving them a place to live and work from for one thing. Make them a cause without a country. If countries who allow terrorist to operate inside their borders were to take the wrath of the rest of the world, maybe they would stop allowing them to operate. Some nations are even financing these groups and they need to accept the fact that the rest of the world will be out to change what is happening inside their country and even their politics.

The whole point of terrorism is it cant be fought conventionally, attack the enemy at home and soon everybody becomes the enemy. Police one thing and something less protected is targeted, police that and bang.. something else goes. So where does it ends, it doesn't really, either they stop, the country gives in or we just get on with it and hope common sense prevails..here hoping on the latter

What are the choices?
1. appeasement
2. unilateral disarmament
3. shock and awe
4. vigilance, intelligence and combating it as best we can; treating it as an ordinary criminal offence

Anarchism and terrorism seem to come in waves, and to fall out of fashion as internal conflicts and the failure to achieve any results frustrate its promoters.

If that is true, #4 is probably best. As they say, with respect to Middle East terror: if the Arabs put down their arms there would be peace; if Israel put down its arms there would be no Israel. That's true of all terror victims.

As a private citizen, what you can do is this:
If you see something funny going on, or you see persons carrying a bomb, call the police.

I would say fulfilling everyone's wish, but that would be impossible.
Eliminating terrorism will always remain as an unrealistic dream!!

It will never happen. Humans fight because they don't have something they need. Then they destroy, and there is only more
need.
