I have very little extra income and even less spare time,[my comute is 40min each way] I am looking at a better job opportunity where conversational Spanish will be a big factor.

Easy! Make friend with someone who speaks both English and Spanish and have conversations with the person as often as you can. That is the fastest way to learn, and it's free!

it's far easier to make people *think* you know something. just get an online certificate.

there is no fast easy and cheap way to learn a 2nd language, sorry. you might want to try a learning CD from a computer store for starters, but i had really bad results with a french program (although it was made 10 years ago.)

-First download a dictionary of the language you want to learn from

(You can find a dictionary in almost every language)

-Find a few blogs from internet (in that language)

If you have a friend who speaks the language, ask him/her to tutor you. This would be the cheapest way.
